This Villager Is Being Interacted With

I had a villager follow me for a little while and I remember telling him to move freely again, but before I knew it he was still following me. I clicked on him again and the interaction menu won't come up. In the speech box it keeps saying 'this villager is being interacted with' whenever I click on him and I can't get him to go back to his normal self. This has happened before and the last villager followed me to his death (walked into a cactus and got stuck). I don't know what to do... He keeps teleporting and it's making my game lag so I'm contemplating killing him...
Hello hoping this thread is still being watched. Can you tell me how to fix this for 1.7.10, I am having the same issue, even after closing out and coming back in several time.
Can't get the interaction dialog.
Having the same problem with version 1.7.10. Villager is following me and interaction menu won't come up. Speech box keeps saying "this villager is being interacted with". Help!
My villager was a family member and I finally broke the glitch when I used a whistle to call my family to me. I can now interact with that villager once again.
My Minecraft version is 1.8 and my MCA version is 1.8-5.0.7.1. By the way, the villager fell down a hole whilst following me and teleported back to me and the interaction menu was able to come up again on him, however, because this is the second time this has happened, if there's something you know might be wrong please let me know, I'm worried this might happen again.
