Somewhat. When I plan to live in a village in my own house the population still changes even if it's the bed only I sleep in.

It would be great if there was a way to become a citizen in a village so you would count toward the population and the bed you sleep in is listed and claimed as your own.

Describe alternatives you've considered
I originally used restriction to keep villagers from claiming my bed. It works, but the max population is still off and it's humbug to try and get my spouse to live in the same house.

Additional context
There could also be a possible config option to limit how many villages a player can hold citizenship in.

I'm working on exactly that :)
You can't really claim the bed, mojang moment, but you can just restrict the building. Manually setting villagers should work fine even in restricted buildings.
