Better Pole Merging

This is not a problem, but some of the things listed below would be nice.

I've had an eye on this mod since version 2, but had about 6 months of not playing Minecraft. It really is crazy to see how much the mod has improved in a short amount of time, and the performance of 3-beta6 is crazy -- 35+FPS where I used to get at most 7.

I just have a couple of requests for things to re-introduce:

  • The Mining Cart: I have a lot of really long spans of underground track and cutting them out by hand is tedious, and /fill doesn't work because of curves. Could you bring it back? Regular minecarts (not vanilla ones, the ones you can add with the dashboard) don't dig out tunnels anymore.

  • Platform screen doors that opened with redstone: I used these at the station entrances to give the effect of sliding glass doors.
  • The old pole block: these looked much better than fences
  • The poles that go in front of the glass fences and stick through ceilings.

Thanks for listening.

I think we can also bring back the door close beep sounds

No these chimes may not legally be used by us because of copyright laws.

well ,but can we use the sound not in copyright laws?

No because such a thing usually doesn't exist

Wait, No. 3 is on the to do list.

About depots, could you make the train kick out all passengers like shift at a 2.x station before going to the depot, so people don't wonder what's going on when their trains speed off with them still on it?

Even now with the train dissappearing and the platform doors shutting it's a bit strange, and you end up stuck in the tunnel and have to wait for the next train.

In addition, is there a way to place a one way section of rail? I've a layout not unlike this:

    __2
   / |
  / _3
  1/

I want a southbound train going straight from 1 to 3, and a northbound one going via 2. The southbound one is fine; the northbound one goes from 1 to 2 passing through but not stopping at 3, then disappears because it doesn't know how to get to 3. And the result is 2 trains passing through each other between 1 and 3.

I may have some workarounds for until this is fixed. As far as the scenic train, does it share any stops with an urban line? If not, but if all/most segments are straight, you could use the nodes to fake a switch (ensure that the scenic track and urban track never share a node, but have the trains along effectively the same track). In the case of the issue here, you could try using "fake stops"(stops of minimum duration) to force the train to start the right way.

That's a good idea. Thanks!
