Vehicles explode when falling a very short distance.

When I remove the wheels from a vehicle, and the small hitbox on the axle falls about 1/4 a block, it breaks through the ground and explodes, despite the fact that it should probably not.

I think this could have something to do with the hitbox being negative Y, but I'm not sure.
