I've been having this problem for a while now, but I just got around it by spawning in a laser drill and destroying the required materials, but I cannot directly craft the laser drill in a crafting table. I put the materials in and it shows a valid recipe on the output, but I cannot take the laser drill out of the crafting table. Shift clicking, normal clicking, scroll wheel method, direct hotbar method (pressing 1-9 with mouse over the item); None of these methods work, so I think it's a bug with the laser drill.

Hmm... Are you sure the client and server configs are synced? That sort of thing could be caused by the client thinking the vanilla recipes are enabled but the server thinking they are disabled.
