Mob Masher Do not do damage

I'm running a server with friend on 1.12.2 and the mob smasher do not damage any tipe of entity(working fine on singol player)

Are you using any mods that do chunk claiming, or chunk/block protection? like ftb utilities, or ftb chunks?

I have the same problem, but in the 1.16.5 version, and i use the Ftb utilities, the mob smasher don't do damage.

are the mashers in claimed areas? if you so thats whats stopping the damage.
