Since packaging data packs as mods has become fairly popular with Modrinth's package as mod feature, a new badge for data packs could be added.
This way, users could, for example, better differentiate that there could be a settings menu accessible only via chat or that they should look for running an uninstall function before removing the mod/data pack.
