Instead of having cows randomly appear, like say you end up with an electrum cow. Instead you would need a block of each resource and breed two regular cows together to get non mixed metal cows, like iron, gold. If you want a mixed cow like say an electrum cow you would need a silver and gold cow and two blocks of electrum.
