Playing on 1.20.1, when searching with JEI and highlighting it, it kills the FPS. Goes from 100 fps down to 10-15fps.

Also not everywhere and not everytime. Sometimes in vanilla storage, sometimes not. Sometimes in modded storage backpacks, sometimes not. It's all over the place when the FPS decide to drop.

You can try changing the option Max Search Results in the config to a lower value and see if that improves the situation?

I'm having the same problem and found this thread so here's the info about mine :

The modpack I'm playing is Impostor Syndrome but I've seen the problem in many packs.

According to this report, It looks like it's mainly apotheosis gear/gems causing it which would explain why I experienced this issue a lot, apotheosis being in a lot of packs.

Oh btw I tried the max search result setting and it didn't seem to help. I mean it does in the sense if I put a low value I don't have any fps drops but the search doesn't highlight anything and any other value I tried still tanked FPS.
