[1.16.5] Possible Out Of Memory freeze if sound drivers on some USB headsets were hotplugged whilst game isn't in focus

occured with Kaleidio's Battle Pack 5.4.1, headset was Corsair Void Elite USB. I was experiencing typical power draw issues from the headset so I decided to unplug the headset then plug it back in. However I forgot to leave the game in focus. When I went to refocus the game window, it stopped responding. I checked the logs and the error in the above link was present at the very end.
