Nitris Trees are intended to generate like this, except this is only due to World Gen limitations with biomes and I am currently working on trying to resolve this so that they can only spawn in cold biomes (such as snowy plains, snowy taiga, etc.).
This issue should be resolved shortly and will most likely be fixed in the next bugfix release. Thank you for your patience with this, if there are any other issues, feel free to let me know.

sidenote: There are plans to actually entirely change Nitris Trees/Wood in future updates as well.
