Internal Exception error after updating the mod on SMP server

Describe the bug
I upgraded the Furniture mod on my SMP server to 5.16.0 from the previous version (5.15.0) and am now receiving a Internal Exception error (please see screen capture below). The error disappeared when I rolled-back to the previous Furniture mod version.

Minecraft Version: Forge 1.12.2-14.23.5.2769
Mod Version: Furniture Mod 5.16.0

I tried to update the mod again to 5.16.0 from the previous version (5.15.0) on my SMP server. Now I'm getting this message:

I found the cause and Furniture was not the cause.
