i have zero conflicting keybinds and the reload wont work with amo still in my inventory

JAVA VERSION: 14.23.5.2860

most I could find is that the mod for 1.12.2 is supported up to 14.23.1.2555 but I'm not sure if it's really only up to that.
IF ANYONE KNOWS HELP PLS!

already verified the same with no conflicting keybinds, correct ammo type too, even verified this in creative. In both creative and survival I can't reload or unload either
