I am running fabric-loader-0.7.2+build.175-1.15.1 with no additional mods when I tested.
The button to change the protocol version doesn't change from auto when clicked.
Also, I think change version should be change Protocol version for clarity.

Edit: There were no error/warning logs made when I clicked on the button
