Forge planned?

I (still) use alot of forge 1.12.2 mods and I would love to be able to use this to connect to older server versions such as 1.7.10 and 1.8.9, as there are still a few good servers that use them. Any forge 1.12.2 support planned?
Thanks
Forge is not planned, however liteloader, which is compatible with Forge, is planned if liteloader updates to the latest version. 1.12.2 clients are not supported and there is no plans to support them, as it would be a lot more work for a mod which is already a lot of work.
Liteloader has been inactive for a VERY long while, so the odds of liteloader updating without other devs hopping on to it is unlikely.
I would like to discuss the ability for Multiconnect to connect to Forge servers. Shall we talk about it here or in a separate issue?
You expect a connection mod to be able to handle mods that need to be installed on both the client on the server... on different Minecraft versions? No, that's a recipe for disaster, and not supported for Fabric either.
If a vanilla client can't connect, then multiconnect can't either. Contact the server owner if you think this is a problem.
At this time as an update to this, I have ported this over to Forge, but due to their registry limitations, it won't unregister data during runtime, making it at this time non-functional when connecting to some versions. Additionally, atm there are no plans to officially support this and thus the port was merely done as an attempt and is not solid fully mostly in lieu to forge stuff
@BluCobalt You can use The5zigmod + a plugin called ClientViaVersion for that, here are the links:
