Multiconnect breaks other mods sounds

I am using Extra Sounds ported to 1.18 and noticed the sounds were failing to load when used in my mod-pack. I eventually narrowed the cause down to multiconnect. Not sure why it does this, I get the feeling it affects other mods too.
