Forge, 1.20.1 - Paused server causes clients to time out

Will post more details about my pack and all included mods soon, as well as test in a standalone setup, putting this here as a placeholder so I don't keep forgetting to report this
When I pause my server, I will promptly be timed out. My guess is the server stops sending keep alive packets when it gets paused. There are no errors in the server console but I have not checked a client log yet.
I'm trying to look into this now and I'm having trouble reproducing this with just iChunUtil and MSP. I'm starting to suspect if it's a mod conflict - any chance you could try with a minimal setup and see if it's still happening?
Sure, will when I can. If I can't reproduce the issue in a minimal setup I'll send you my mods, and start batch testing when I can. Doing so will be very slow though so it will be some time before I get around to this.
Have this issue to, i installed it on a better minecraft forge, crafty 4 docker server. will try on clean server.
Also experiencing this issue on a TerraFirmaGreg server, can give an update if I can determine which mod it's conflicting with.
I probably should have diagnosed this but I ended up getting sidetracked and never doing so. I'll see about it soon.
I'm still occasionally getting sporadic reports about this issue. I'm afraid that I still can't reproduce it on my end and I'm still thinking it might be a mod conflict.
If anyone identifies which mods/combination of mods is causing players to time out after ~30 seconds please let me know.
Hi, just had the same situation on 1.3.2, using Essential Mod to connect gives the same result, 1.18.2 Forge 40.2.17
I can't say if that's the cause though my modpack has over 600 mods ๐
Hosting a world doesn't timeout you when pausing via opening pause menu but it kind of freezes the world for a good amount of time and causes a lag spike (shouldn't it be less lag/computing when nothing moves?) on host's side, connecting client joins and then gets sent back to multiplayer timeout screen.
We didn't have this issue on version 1.2.0 so assuming it's one of the changes you made since? We could try test if it happens on 1.3.0 as well. We might not have the time to figure out the cause but maybe there's mod behavior aligning with the other reported issues. Log should also have a full mod list and the sort.
