I cannot confirm if it would work with weapons from mods aside from Simply Swords at the moment, but in my testing, vanilla weapons were able to eventually trigger the effect, but even after dozens of slain pigs with a few Simply Swords weapons, I did not see any ham drop. Tested with sheep for large meals lamb shanks and that did not happen either.
