I even use vanilla farmland instead of fertilised soil, but the nether star seed just won't go beyond 0% growth for some reason. See my setup in the picture. From what I can tell, it's correct, but they won't grow at all.

Nevermind, it's just unaffected by watering cans and so it's growing slowly :P
