This is pretty bizzare. I've found that crafting higher tier essences (Prudentium, Intermedium, Superium, Supremium) will result in lag for everyone on the server (except for the crafter). This appears to primarily happen when you do it in large stacks (64 at a time, shift-click on output).

What crafting table are you using?
