Fertilizer trinket causes uncontrolled seagrass growth and flooding / Not working as intended

Description
The fertilzer trinket is in the slot, I am standing surrounded by plants, both modded and vanilla, and none are growing faster than normal,
nothing happens at all.
Steps to Reproduce
- Equip Trinket
- Stand around crops
- Nothing happens

Slight change to this report, after about 45-50 minutes I heard plant-breaking noises, and now my farm is flooded as it was growing seagrass, apparently somewhere under the farm? and now its coming in on top of blocks, which came in waterlogged so flooded everything..................and it keeps adding more seagrass everywhere.....
I had assumed that there was a flooded area under my farm, and the seagrass started there, but I have found that it is actually just starting seagrass in the water holes in the farm, then breaking dirt blocks below to grow more, which hollows out and floods underneath, this is why it took so long to show up, it started there. After a bit it starts to appear on the surface, which floods everything, which speeds up the surface appearance of seagrass.
After clearing up my flooded farm, I noticed this one had actually appeared up in a tree!
Sorry but that screenshot is really funny.
I'm sorry for the huge inconvenience. It seems it's not that it doesn't work, but rather that it doesn't work as it should. I'll see how to fix it.
