One of our players used the compass to look for a Quartz Desert biome from the nether while in the overworld and it caused a server crash. I believe the console said it was attempting to cast Air to the nature compass although the player states all they did was right-click it in their main hand while in the overworld. Mod is running on vanilla forge win the All the mods 6 modpack. Also, all users were kicked from the server with a Stack overflow error and then the server went down so no idea how that relates.
