Although the guide book already warns you about this, I'm pretty sure someone will end up not reading it and posting it as an issue. I'm putting this here for those people. At some point in the future I may end up changing the ship breaking code to account for this, but right now I don't see this as being something that will happen too rarely for me to care about.

Fixed in next update due to redesigned ship destruction code.
