The "Respecting the Remnants" advancement has two requirements to be unlocked: brushing Suspicious Gravel or Sand that contains an archaeology loot table, and having a Pottery Sherd in your inventory. Neapolitan does not add criteria to this advancement for neapolitan:archaeology/banana_plant_common or neapolitan:archaeology/banana_plant_rare (even loot tables that don't contain Pottery Sherds should be included to be consistent with vanilla).
