It's not an exploit if it's just combining intended mechanics 😏

I'd reccomend making it so that infinite status effects just turn into the longest duration obtainable in survival (only when the player is in survival) (without anything added, such as Potions of Extension)

So if an applicable entity has infinite night vision, if I use mint milkshake I will get 8 minutes of night vision since 8 minutes is the max duration for Potion of Night Vision
