i thought of four animations and have visualised them and they are in this order; death by explosion, death by drowning, suffocating, sinking in lava.

Freezing got added, the issue with the others is that a) the client has no clue really, but might be assumable by the blocks around and b) rotating the entire body is currently not implemented, so still needs further work.

I'll add to this, having a burning animation where the player is flailing around would be funny.

Hm death animations could be a thing. I guess the biggest issue is with stopping it from playing the normal "tilting to the side" animation. Since you do these visualizations, mind joining the discord to better work together?
