Toggle Overlay keybinding doesn't hide JEI item panel

It only hides the widgets on the left.
Tested with the latest versions of NEI, JEI and CCL, and then just with JEI.

Figured it out, was consuming the key event instead of just sniffing for it, causing JEI to not receive the event.

Going to need some more info, NEI should use whatever keybinding JEI is set to use. Can you please verify this is the case?
