Melter output to an already-occupied ingot former causes the melter's output liquid to disappear

Version 1.1.6 on 1.20.1
This affects a setup where a melter is used to melt down ore chunks, and directly output them to an adjacent ingot former via "OUTPUT" side configuration. If the ingot former is processing a liquid material (say Lithium) into ingots, and the melter is trying to output a different kind into it (say, Iron), then the iron disappears instead of being kept inside of the melter until space is available.
I would attach screenshots but this seems fairly easily reproducible. I'm not sure if this affects other processors.
Thank you for your time.
