Tormented armor has a full set bonus of 4 blocks jump height, and it works. However, as 4 blocks is aboce the threshold for fall damage (3 blocks), using tormented armor make you take a negligible amount of fall damage every time (it's not really negligible when it stacks up or plays the fall damage animation and sounds repeatedly).
