What happened?

Playing a modpack with BYG and Create *and some minor QoL/performance mods, the caves around spawn were all Lush caves, which is not too weird.

However, after playing for a few sessions and having explored to about 2000 blocks from spawn in different directions and not encountered a single Dripstone cave I got a bit suspicious and hopped into Spectator and flew around underground for 5 minutes - still not a single pointy drip stone as far as I can see.

Apart from the aesthetic reasons there are limitations to playing the game without Pointed dripstone when it comes to lava farms for instance.

I opened up a new 1.18.2 world and installed only BYG, terrablender and fabric flew around for a few thousand blocks then /tp to 1000000 42 1000000 and flew around for a few thousand blocks, not a single dripstone in sight. Lush caves, normal dead/barrent/empty deepslate caves and other normal underground stuff but no drip stone.

Did you isolate BYG?

I tried BYG alone

I did find one a few days later. Seems like they're just a bit more rare than I'm used to.
