Thank you for the mod, I am loving all the configuration options, but I have run into a snag.

I have created a group in entityClaimBarrierOptionalGroups called Magic and tested it with irons_spellbooks:black_hole and irons_spellbooks:wall_of_fire, which appear to be the entities summoned when someone casts those spells. I made sure to enable the barrier, but casting those spells still creates those entities. Any ideas on how I can prevent them from being used to grief? Am I using the wrong category?

I'm using Open Parties and Claims on Forge 1.20.1, version b0.24.0

The barrier is around the claimed area. It doesn't prevent entities from spawning.
I'm not sure if you can configure proper protection for these spells, depending on how they work. Most likely it requires explicit support of OPAC on the spell mod's end or somebody would have to make an addon mod.
