[Feature Request]Redstone Rheostat

Basically a block with adjustable strength redstone signal. I suggest this as it would be useful with your Radio. Since this quite different than the functions I've logged a similar feature request to Immibis for inclusion in Redlogic as it is a block that would be useful for other functions/mods.

I quite like this idea

Well trying to get in touch with Immibis, Redlogic doesn't have repository that I can find. I figure one side output. On side to increase signal strength by one with redstone pulse, other to decrease and another that is on/off toggle. GUI to set strength difference between levels. Would be good to be compatible with red alloy type wires that can propagate signal to 256(?) blocks.

@Vaygrim Indeed, an RS strength of more than 5 is far too loud compared to the rest of MC. @mikeemoo, you might want to change the volume level up a little, since NOONE will play a radio with a strength of 10-15, that would be far too loud.

I really would love to see this also, as currently in order to get the Radio down to a manageable volume level.. I require a stretch of redstone dust 15 blocks long with a lever attached.

A Radio that needs a 16 block 'tail' is not very practical to place within lots of bases. Heh

I was hoping I could find this sort of thing in ProjectRed's pocket, but didn't find it. I suggest calling it a "Dial," however. Could be made simply with a stone pressure plate and a lever. +1

In addition you can use chests and comparators, or dispenser and a comparator, or item frame and (you guessed it) a comparator.

Still doesn't mean a rheostat wouldn't be useful however.

In the version OpenBlocks is currently for, (as a matter of fact it's a 1.8 change) the item frame + comparator setup isn't an option, however the other ones are still quite valid. However, I would personally recommend the bookcase + Redstone Volume one, as it is the simplest to use and set up.

But yeah, I would definitely support the motion for this; it could be useful for a lot of applications, besides just volume control.

not trying to resurrect an old issue, but if you are using Bibliocraft in your pack I have found that using a bookshelf directly behind the radio with a redstone volume (the book you craft with a redstone torch) works as a sort of volume controller. Based on where you place the book the bookshelf emits different strengths of redstone. Another words each position on the shelf (slots 1-16) emit a different strength (0-15). Been using this trick to make a nice compact design to adjust the volume on my radio...just wanted to share until something better could be implemented.
