I'm not entirely sure how Github wikis work, but if everyone (i.e. registered user) can edit them then start one up. It'd be easier to update articles, including images and recipes, as new content appears.

Github I don't think has very good moderation control. Running a wiki with public access could have bad things happen.

Indeed, external Wiki might be better. I would help writing/updating it.
