Having Trouble Compiling the 1.7.2 Version

I had tried using the gradle script, but it hasn't been updated yet for 1.7.2. Any suggestions on how I should compile it?
I should mention that I have very limited coding experience; I only know how to read code and report bugs, not on how to write code, if that helps on giving me a suggestion on what to do.
