Attempting to use block placer with player in the way renders game unplayable

MC version: 1.10.2
Forge version: 12.18.3.2477
Mods loaded: OpenBlocks-1.10.2-1.7.2, OpenModsLib-1.10.2-0.11.2
Upon activating the block placer with an item inside, and the player standing in the way of the block, the player is no longer able to interact with anything. Upon saving, the game freezes. Log shows nothing useful as far as I can tell.
