For some reason me and my friends can't use any of our abilities. We use the buttons that are supposed to activate the ability and it doesn't do anything.

Any update on your issue? I have the same issue on our server. My friend can use his ability but I can't.

I should ask what mods are you using, and have you tried rebinding your ability keys?
If you have Decorative Blocks installed, and leave the ability on the default "G" key, this may be the cause of your problems.
It seems to be causing issues for other mods as well.
