I'd assume this is due to the pale hanging moss pretty much being a copy of weeping vines in the code

Yes, the Pale Hanging Moss classes inherits from the Weeping Vine class. Jaden's Nether Expansion may be adding mixins to the Weeping Vine to grow Lightspores, making the Pale Hanging Moss behaving the same way.

I may work on a fix this week.
