Lettuce is a decent source of food, though it seems a bit unbalanced to drop 5 or 6 heads of lettuce from a single lettuce crop. Given the size and nature of lettuce, perhaps it would be better to produce 1-2 heads of lettuce per crop instead, allowing just enough to maintain a farm without providing large amounts of excess food.
