I am not sure would that cause a lot of problem or simple minecraft couldnt do it. (not familiar with how the codes work)
I have this idea when I am making a fish tank display. I see that fish entity tends to clot on the edge of the water as the block of water is not a full block. I have attached a few pictures to illustrate. See if you could let water fill up the gap. It is not mandatory but I hope it would be a feature coz i really enjoy the mod and i love the idea. Unfortunately, that is how the vanilla water logged features works. I have been considering implementing my own version but that is going to take a lot of work (not a lot of time for new feature development right now)
