When picking up a full inventory of items, of any kind, different or the same, there is 15 slots or 15 stacks of items that will disappear.

Are you possibly in creative mode? Items that don't fit in your inventory will be deleted.

The code doesn't modify item stacks at all, it only reads them. I'm rather certain there's no room in there for items to be deleted or actually modified.
