[Bug]: Weird model glitch

Forge, earliest one I tested is 2857 and latest one 2860

1.12.2

1.1.5
Notes (Required)
To reproduce:
Throw any item and pick it up while being in invertory and survival mode.
Also make sure that "show sprites" in config is True, otherwise the bug doesn't occur.
Also it happens both with and without optifine.

Thanks a lot for the report, I appreciate it. Unfortunately I don't support Minecraft 1.12 anymore. It's a simple fix, but I don't have any 1.12 dev resources setup and don't want to invest the time to do so. If someone wants to compile the fix themselves though I'm happy to upload that version to the site.
I know a bit of java, I can try fixing it
