Vanilla behavior:

scrolling over an item (or picking one up) displays the item name above your hotbar.
If other mods are present that add GUI status bars (in my example, Tough as Nails Thirst bar and Elenai Dodge 2 Dodges Bar), the vanilla text is simply displayed over the bar. This is normal and expected.

With Pickup Notifier:

When the Pickup Notifier is active on the screen, The vanilla "item name text" that is otherwise rendered above/on top of any gui or status bar suddenly goes behind the gui/bars.

However, this is only when the Pickup Notifier is active on the screen. If the mod is installed, but no items have been picked up, the "vanilla Item Name" text displays normally as it should (above any other GUI elements).

Please let me know if you need any other clarification, and I hope the legendary 1.12.2 is still supported!
