Would you consider this change please ?

• Add an input slot that accepts only bone meal, from either the player or a hopper.
• Reduce the default growth rate so fully growing a plant takes, say, 120 seconds.
• Consume the bone meal to quadruple the growth rate for 10 seconds ; so 3 bone meals would reduce the total grow time to 30 seconds.

This would be a nerf but could make the mod a bit more balanced.
