Pneumatic Horse Armour

Describe the feature
Thanks to PneumaticCraft, the player is able to outfit themselves in a very powerful, and very versatile armour, granting them a multitude of abilities including night vision, flight, speed, and water breathing, among the many other upgrades the player can have. As a result of this pneumatic power armour, horses, one of Minecraft's earlier additions, and a fantastic early-game traversal tool for long distance travel, becomes redundant.
In order to combat this redundancy, the player could craft and equip the horse with the pneumatic horse armour, the pneumatic horse armour would be crafted in the same style as the player's armour, that is to say the player would first create compressed iron horse armour using leather horse armour as the base, and would then use said compressed iron horse armour in the recipe for the pneumatic horse armour
So, how would this armour be a benefit to the horse or the player? Well, the pneumatic horse armour will allow the horse to take advantage of some of the upgrades that the player gets to use, some of which benefit the horse, some the player, and others both; let's go down the list and explain how each of these upgrades would work for a horse.
-
Volume Upgrade: Just as with the player's pneumatic armour, the volume upgrade will allow the pneumatic horse armour to carry a much larger supply of pressurised air, allowing it to last longer without needing to be refilled.
-
Armour Upgrade: Horses can only take so many creeper explosions or arrows to the knee before they get sentenced to dead, this upgrade will allow them to brush off more damage than Superman himself, durability defying known limits.
-
Entity Tracker Upgrade: Placing this upgrade into the horse's pneumatic horse armour will display the horse on the player's HUD without the need for the player needing one themselves; this means that if the player is using their own entity tracker, they can continue to use it without having to change the search specifications to find their horse, and if they don't have their own entity tracker, the horse will still be visible as if they did have one. This only works as long as the player is wearing their pneumatic helmet, and as the horse doesn't actually assign to the player, the tracker within the horse armour will technically display to anybody wearing a pneumatic helmet, not just the horse's owner.
-
Dispenser Upgrade: Unlike when this upgrade is installed into the pneumatic boots, allowing the player to kick entities in front of them, this will instead allow the horse to absolutely shatter anybody who is unfortunate enough to be standing behind them, the sheer strength of a horse wearing pneumatic horse armour charged up to 20 bars of pressure would be unparalleled.
-
Speed Upgrade: This one is pretty self-explanatory; the speed upgrade will allow the horse to run much faster, as well as decrease the charging time for a jump, allowing the player to charge a jump much quicker.
-
Security Upgrade: With this upgrade, the horse will gain the same protections it affords the player, flames will be extinguished, and lava will be solidified at a significant air cost; however, the horse will get another fancy perk from this upgrade, if a creeper primes their fuse close enough to a horse wearing pneumatic armour, the armour will discharge a large amount of air at once pushing all nearby entities away.
-
Charging Upgrade: Unlike the player's pneumatic armour, the pneumatic horse armour can actually be charged up to 20 bars of pressure, and with the charging upgrade, that pressure can be pumped into the player's pneumatic powered items and armour, refilling your stuff while you travel like a portable charging station.
-
Jumping Upgrade: Just like the speed upgrade, this one is fairly self explanatory; the jumping upgrade will increase the height in which the horse is able to jump, allowing the horse to reach incredible heights.
-
Flippers Upgrade: Horses have never been very good at swimming in Minecraft, and extremely heavy pneumatic armour isn't going to help that, not unless you strap some flippers to their hooves; with this upgrade, the horse will no longer sink as you ride it while on water, you can now cross those 7 block-wide rivers without any hassle.
-
Stomp Upgrade: Just as with the player, the horse will benefit from this upgrade too, but with an upside and a downside; the horse is much heavier than the player and so will discharge a little more air than the player, but as a result, the base damage before the impact speed is calculated is slightly increased too.
Now alongside all of these fancy upgrades, I would ask for one more to be added alongside the pneumatic horse armour, the mule upgrade, for when you want the carrying capacity of a mule, but believe that the effort of getting a mule far exceeds the effort of getting this upgrade, no matter how misguided it may seem. The mule upgrade will afford the horse the same carrying capacity as a mule, and multiple mule upgrades can be applied to increase the capacity, and to further expand on this upgrade: the fluid tanks can fill and drain a fluid inventory by right clicking it with the fluid tank in the player's hand; well, by right clicking a horse with a mule upgrade with a security or smart chest, the player can easily transfer to contents back and forth between them.
Thank you.
Reasons why it should be considered
Horses have never really had a great use beyond travelling far distances early on, and they do eventually get replaced, even with the pneumatic horse armour, travel will eventually be outclassed by other systems provided by this mod, but the horse armour will provide the horse with some extra uses beyond the vanilla game and allow the horse to retain relevancy for significantly longer, not to mention their ability to carry oil...
...If the horse could carry the same amount as a single wooden chest, the player can fill that space up with full huge fluid tanks and persuade themselves that they have an endless supply of oil before it inevitably runs out, even if it will take a long time.
I feel this mod would also turn a regular Minecraft horse into a more war leaning companion, able to tank a lot more hits, cause a lot more damage, and provide a lot more defence.
Additional details
- The entity tracker upgrade can be disabled without removing the tracker by first riding the horse, and then opening the PneumaticCraft options menu.
- The speed of the horse can be adjusted similarly. Ride the horse, open the options menu, and use a slider to set the desired travel percentage. This adjustment should either not affect the jump charging time or have a separate slider for the jump charging time.
- The creative supply upgrade should absolutely work for the pneumatic horse armour too.
- The calculations for both the speed upgrade and the jumping upgrade will take the base stats into account, this is so that horse genetics can still remain relevant even with the pneumatic horse armour.
- The recipe will follow the same pattern as the current player's pneumatic armour, "leather, to compressed iron, to pneumatic".
- In order to make the compressed iron horse armour, the player will create a H shape in a 3x3 crafting grid entirely out of compressed iron (this is the same shape used to craft the leather horse armour), and lastly the leather horse armour would be placed in the bottom middle space, leaving the top middle space blank.
- And to turn the compressed iron horse armour into pneumatic horse armour, the player will require a finished printed circuit board, and instead of regular air canisters, because the pneumatic horse armour can hold far greater pressure than the player's pneumatic armour, it will require the reinforced air canisters instead.
- Possible change: The pneumatic horse armour could be made in multiple stages as well, requiring the helmet, torso, legs, and hooves be made separately before being combined in a crafting bench, but I'm not sure myself; I do like mods to be relatively easy, but I praise PneumaticCraft for the grind, getting oil, getting plastic, maintaining temperature, exploiting broken chunks, stuff like that entices me.
