Multi GPS link using universal sensor

The universal sensor seems quite fun even to know when a mob is nearby and the air cannon is very fun to play with still it seems I can't use the universal sensor to lock on to a mob, get the coordinates and then "link" it to the air cannon for it to shoot, if memory doesn't fail me we can already put a variable in to the GPS then put it on the air cannon then why not make it so we can make the universal sensor give us the coordinates to whatever we set it to lock on (Then filter to closest mob, weakest, strongest or just leave it to closest) store the coordinates in the variable that the GPS inside the air cannon is set to read.
