EXP Stopped Working After I made a Memory Stick

Describe your problem, including steps to reproduce it
My player can't gather any exp in my world as of making 2 memory sticks. It acts the same as if the stick were auto absorbing the exp, except that it's whether or not the stick is on, and even when the stick is my storage system. It has also never actually absorbed any other exp, just shown what I put in manually. The one time I was able to recreate it successfully, it happened after crafting two memory sticks in the same crafting session, then activating auto-absorb on one of them.
Any other comments?
Just a Note that as I was trying to figure out how to recreate what happened, somehow the backup that I was using stopped working even before I made the memory sticks, so it's possible that it isn't specifically related, but I don't know how to tell, so I wanted to bring it up anyway.
Worth noting this is in the Direwolf 1.16 modpack (https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/oa6ipi/memory_stick_broke_exp_in_my_world_as_far_as_i/), might be a mod conflict
