The "Holes" feel pretty janky in instances of climbing up/down without falling/suffocating.
My idea is that holes (by default) stay for much longer, but have a limit (3-4 default), and shorter range (2-4, including the +1 that is there for some reason). You can also, remove all of them at once by pressing Shift + RMB. This would make movement in large solids/terrarian smoother, and reduce buildup)
Also, blocks that need specific/full blocks under them (e.x. grass and doors respectively) should be converted to a invisible version of the temporary_hole block, and reappear after the hole is reconstructed. It would look clean, and it would keep the blocks intact.
