Portals Sometimes Stop Linking

After the server resets the tags sometimes disappear from the portals and they get disconnected. This didn't happen in version 2.0.0 but does now 2.1.0. This error message is also in console:
[01:50:03 ERROR]: Failed to save level .\world
java.lang.NullPointerException: null
Note: I reset the nether today, but also updated to the latest version.
I found the issue and it is an incompatibility with the Nether 256 mod when also paired with Overworld Two and this mod. I also have nether disabled in the overworld two config.
It appears that the game is failing to save the level data which is where I store portal linkage information but I don't believe this is the fault of my mod, I will investigate further.
