Whenever the Crafting-Terminal is used in a bigger Modpack (meaning lots of recipes) crafting in the terminal causes the entire Server to freeze temporarily, espcially when shift+crafting. Also requesting Items for the crafting grid adds one item a time pretty slowly.
The spikes do not happen with other means of crafting, be it in inventory, crafting table, refined storage or sophisticatedd backpacks crafting module.
