Crash when approaching Grove Sprites

I don't quite know why this is happening, but whenever i go near a Grove Sprite (or where I assume one to be) I crash. From what I've seen it's only a problem on LAN worlds, not singleplayer but I'm yet to test that.

EDIT: Just tested and it is very much not a problem in single player, only effects Multiplayer (Though I have only tested LAN worlds)

Thanks guys and sorry for the very late response. This is likely due to some outdated color code but I will investigate. Might be fixed in the 1.2 alpha though.

Ah yes this is actually the same as case #87 so this has been fixed!

What biomes does this happen in? I'm curious if grove sprites are trying to get their color information from a modded tree that isn't yielding the information they expect. I can't seem to reproduce this in a pack with only primitive mobs installed so that leads me to believe it may be a mod conflict

It was just a regular forest, and the only trees around were vanilla ones, bar maybe a few natura ones. Again, I had no issues in single player, only in a LAN world, where I wasnt the host.

I'm seeing the same error with vanilla biomes. I have a hunch it's to do with Forge versions - tested on Forge 14.23.5.2768.

@Spearkiller @wetbrownsauce Which Forge versions did you test with?

commented

I cannot reproduce the issue on forge versions 14.23.4.2760 or 14.23.4.2765

edit: I cannot seem to reproduce it on 14.23.5.2768 either, do you have reliable steps to reproduce?

Nevermind about Forge, I think. PrimitiveMobs can transmit color data via packets and Forge added a new exception to packets but it seems unrelated to this. Grove Sprites still crash me using 2705 (client & server).

There was one sprite who didn't crash me on 2768. I don't know what the difference was. All tests were only with PrimitiveMobs. In singleplayer, they'll show up white and grey, so they don't seem to have default/fallback color information.

I was running forge 1.12.2-14.23.4.2757 (relatively old version due to other mods not liking the latest updates). I dont really have any steps for how to fix it, I opened a world to LAN on a himachi network so my friends could play, I was walking through a plains, stepped on the border of a forest, and then crashed.
